  2. What is VIG’s share capital?

    Vienna Insurance Group’s share capital currently amounts to EUR 132,887,468.20.

  3. How does VIG’s shareholder structure look like? How much free float does VIG have?

    The main shareholder of Vienna Insurance Group, Wiener Städtische Wechselseitige Versicherungsverein – Vermögensverwaltung – holds around 72% of the shares in VIG. The free float currently stands at about 28% of shares.

  4. At which stock exchanges are VIG shares traded?

    VIG has been listed on the Vienna Stock Exchange since 1994. The capital increase of 2008 brought a secondary listing on the Prague Stock Exchange. A tertiary listing at the Budapest Stock Exchange has been in effect since November 2022 – a development that underlines the focus on Central and Eastern Europe.

  8. Does VIG Group run an ADR programme for its US investors?

    Yes. In cooperation with BNY Mellon as depositary bank, Vienna Insurance Group has set up a Sponsored Level I ADR-Programme. The ADRs of the Vienna Insurance Group are traded over the counter (OTC) under the symbol VNRFY in U.S. dollars. Five ADRs represent one VIG share.

Dividend & AGM

  1. What is VIG’s dividend policy?

    VIG’s dividend policy defines a payout ratio in the range of 30% to 50% of Group profits after taxes and non-controlling interests. Going forward, the aim is to keep the dividend per share aligned with Group performance.

  2. What was the dividend for the last financial year?

    The dividend for the financial year 2021 amounted to EUR 1.25 per share.

  3. How has the dividend developed in recent years?

  4. By when do I have to purchase shares in order to be entitled to dividend payments?

    Shareholders, who purchased shares before the ex-dividend day, are entitled to dividend payments. Ex-dividend day is usually the first trading day after the Annual General meeting (AGM). 

  5. When are dividend payments made?

    The dividend for the financial year 2021 was paid on 25 May 2022. The next dividend payment day is planned to be on 1 June 2023. All dates can be found in the financial calendar.

  6. When will the next Annual General Meeting take place?

    The Annual General Meeting 2022 about the financial year 2021 took place on 20 May 2022. The Annual General Meeting 2023 is planned to take place on 26 May 2023. All dates can be found in the financial calendar

Corporate Responsibility

  1. Which sustainability indices include VIG?

    The Vienna Insurance Group’s shares have been included in VÖNIX since the middle of 2005. VÖNIX is Austria’s first sustainability index. It was created by the VBV Austrian pension fund and is comprised of listed Austrian companies that are leaders in terms of social and environmental performance.

  2. Is the VIG Group member of international sustainability initiatives?

    In March 2021 VIG joined the United Nations Global Compact – the world’s largest corporate responsibility and sustainability initiative. In doing so, the VIG Group has made a commitment to uphold the universal Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in which the Group is already implementing many measures.

  3. Has VIG committed itself to the UN Sustainable Development Goals?

    VIG Insurance Group has dealt with the SDGs since 2019 and has integrated them into its sustainability reporting since then. Get more information on the goals and targets to which the VIG companies can make the greatest contribution.

  4. Does the group have a code of conduct?

    Yes. Based on the VIG Mission Statement and the VIG Values, the VIG Code of Business Ethics (COBE) is intended as a unified code of conduct. Get to know VIG COBE in more detail.

  5. Has VIG declared its commitment to the Austrian Code of Corporate Governance?

    Vienna Insurance Group is committed to the application of and compliance with the applicable version of the Austrian Code of Corporate Governance. VIG publishes Corporate Governance Reports on a yearly basis as a part of the Group Annual Report.

  6. Does VIG comply with the rules and requirements of the Austrian Code of Corporate Governance?

  7. How is sustainability management carried out at the VIG Group?

    VIG Holding has an ESG team in the European Affairs and ESG department that reports directly to the Chairwoman of the Managing Board. The team coordinates sustainability agendas across the Group and coordinates the various topics with the persons responsible at the Company headquarters and the sustainability officers in the VIG insurance companies. Information is regularly exchanged to increase the understanding of topics relevant to the environment, society and governance.

  8. Who should I approach if I want to ask VIG about obtaining sponsorship support?
