It is the intent of the Vienna Insurance Group to give artists additional freedom for their artistic development, thereby making a contribution to cultural life and cultural development in Austria and the CEE.  Even if the insurance business and art do not always have the same objectives, they do permit meaningful and constructive cooperation.

Designed by renowned architect Erich Boltenstern, the Ringturm, headquarters of the Vienna Insurance Group, has been a place for people to meet and exchange ideas since its opening in 1955. The former cash hall of the Ringturm, which was converted into a modern exhibition centre by Boris Podrecca, has hosted the “Architecture in the Ringturm” exhibition series regularly since 1998. Principal shareholder Wiener Städtische Wechselseitige uses this exhibition series to provide architects in all of the countries where VIG operates with a venue that is accessible to the public free of charge.

From 1 December 2011 until 17 February 2012

The new exhibition of the „Architektur im Ringturm“ series of the Vienna Insurance Group is dedicated to Vienna's greatest internationally renowned architect of early modernism – Adolf Loos. The exhibition outlines his role as trailblazer of avant-garde in Vienna, his relationship to Vienna, the city of his choice as well as his design of Goldman & Salatsch, nowadays known as the "Loos Haus", his undisputed masterpiece in the heart of the city, an architectural icon of international stature.
