Awards
The numerous awards won by the consolidated companies of the Vienna Insurance Group document that the social and cultural commitment of the V.I.G. has also been recognised and honoured by the public at large.
Some examples:
V.I.G. in Austria
Wiener Städtische has already been awarded the Maecenas art sponsoring prize several times. For example, in 2006 for its overall concept for the Mozart year. The commitment involved multiple national and international projects and included the Ringturm as the “Don Giovanni” house, which for the occasion was turned into the world’s largest artistic monument. Most recently, in 2009, Wiener Städtische was awarded the Maecenas Recognition Award in the “long-term sponsoring commitment” category for sponsoring the Austrian National Library.
V.I.G. in Hungary
UNION Vienna Insurance Group Biztosító Zrt. received the “Best Sponsor” award in the financial services category from the Hungarian Charitable Forum in 2009 for its social awareness, ongoing value-added social commitment, and sponsoring activities in 2008. Helping children with health and social disadvantages is one of UNION Biztosító’s highest priorities. Its sponsoring activities extend from financial support and charitable donations to voluntary service by employees.
V.I.G. in Poland
The Group’s Polish company Compensa TU S.A. Vienna Insurance Group was awarded the title “Solid Employer 2008” in a national competition held by Grupa Media Partner in the summer of 2009. The award is granted by publishers and independent experts to companies that display the highest standards with respect to social working conditions, part-time employment models and career opportunities, and that have an excellent reputation with other business organisations and decision-makers.
V.I.G. International
The annual awards of UniBA Partners, one of the world’s largest independent service providers in the field of risk management, were given out in December 2009. The Vienna Insurance Group emerged as the clear winner in the category “best regional insurance company (CEE)”. The UniBA Partners’ Awards are based on a survey of UniBA Partners employees world-wide. The focus was on issues pertaining to the topics of innovation and problem solving, customer-orientation, claims management and settlement as well as risk management.
